Project Bench: before and after pix!

I was at my parents house the other day and I noticed this old wooden bench on the front porch that was in bad need of some attention. I decided to take it home and try to fix it up. First I sanded the whole thing. Then I took my leftover wood stain and stained the whole thing. I was surprised how dark it came out though because my last project that I stained with this stuff came out much lighter. I wasn't loving it. I let the bench sit like this for a week or two. Then I called my mom to inform her that I had stolen her bench and wanted to make sure it was ok for me to go further in my makeover project. Luckily she said yes and I decided to paint the whole thing white. That was an improvement but it was still too plain. This morning I got out my stencils and did this pretty design on the top in grey paint. Then I took my roughest sand paper and sanded the heck out of the edges and lightly on the top to give it that old vintage feel. Now I love it. What do you think?
